I have written, proofread, and edited works in all three of these categories. Services will be uniform across all types, however, with proofreading for grammar, consistency, readability, clarity, and cohesion. I do not intend to change the content or meaning of any of your work, and any and all edits are subject to your choice of acceptance or decline. I will work with your pieces using a form of tracking and typed red ink, depending on the agreed upon writing and editing service. If you would like more in depth comments or explanation for edits, that can be discussed when accepting the job and working on the details.
Young adult fiction refers to works that have characters and subject matter that pertain to the ages of 13-18 years old. Any works with ages below or above that range are not considered young adult and will not be accepted into this category for proofreading. Because of this age range, works should fit into this category with vocabulary and content matter that align with the age group. As a result, young adult pieces will take less time than adult pieces and some poetry. Density and length of pieces play a role in every service, however, the vocabulary for young adult work should fit the age range and be quicker to read and proofread overall.
Adult fiction pertains to any works beyond young adult. New adult is a category sometimes mentioned between young adult and adult, however, this category does not cause a strong divide in vocabulary and content matter as between young adult and adult. For this purpose, any work with characters or content that pertains to the ages of 19 and older will fall under the adult category. As there will often be more advanced vocabulary, concepts, and content matter in adult content, time constraints can be expected to be longer than for young adult pieces.
Poetry will be accepted in all forms. Any age range is also acceptable for poetry, though I do not have a lot of experience with children's work of any kind. Time constraints for poetry will range a lot more than for the other two categories, as poetry may be impacted more by style, density, poetic type, and the overall writing. I will most likely read your poetry five or six times before beginning to proofread to grasp as much as I can. Poetry is beautiful and expressive, but it often is more difficult to read and understand, so it will take more reads to proofread for the best final outcome.

Your work can include social media ads, newsletters, articles, and other promotional material that you would like proofread. Because these will be a direct reflection of your business, have a clear vision of what message you are trying to send with your ads, what you are promoting, and what your business stands for and represents. If you have a slogan or extra insight into your business and the advertisement, it would be helpful to include for the best proofreading results. My goal is to assist with the wording of your advertising, however, if you have graphics, color schemes, or other elements included that you would also like tips or guidance on, that can be discussed upon job acceptance. If you are seeking other types of marketing assistance, please reach out with questions, and I will gladly respond and help in any way I can.
I have an entrepreneurial management certificate that I gained through the exploration and simulation of starting businesses from scratch. This work included advertising, marketing, finance, personnel management, inventory, social awareness, research, BMC planning, investor discussion, negotiations, and more. Beyond this, I have worked multiple jobs that included social media promotion and creating advertisements in the form of flyers, newsletters, and articles. For your business pieces, I will use red ink and track changes, however, as your work may include charts, images, graphs, and other elements that will not be typed, I may handwrite notes with red ink. This can be discussed further upon job acceptance.
Business essays and plans will align more with regular proofreading for clarity, tone, and cohesion. However, as these may be more formal, it is best to have clear requirements of how professional or formal the piece is required to be upon proofreading request. I will not be fact-checking numbers, research, or calculations, but I may bring obvious concerns to you if they arise as I proofread. I will review graphics and formatting, but also have a clear rubric of how your essay or plan should be structured as these vary depending on the person, the business, and the formality of it.
